Meet Greg James

Greg James — a.k.a. GJ the DJ — didn’t just stumble into entertainment; he grew up in it. He started in radio down in Daytona Beach, where his smooth style and crowd-reading instincts made him a local favorite. What started as a fun little side gig turned into a full-blown party career.

Now in Phoenix, Greg has become a go-to DJ for celebrations all across the Valley. Weddings, corporate events, backyard bashes, school dances — if there’s dancing involved, he’s probably spun there. From Prescott to Casa Grande, Buckeye to Gold Canyon, Greg brings the kind of energy that gets people smiling, singing, and — yes — dancing.

How far in advance should I book?

Greg books up quickly — especially for weekends and wedding season — so it’s best to reach out as soon as you have a date in mind. Even if it’s last-minute, still call… he’s known for saving the day.

Can I choose all the music?

Absolutely. You can pick every song if you want. You and Greg go over your playlist together before you even book, or he can build one for you based on your vibe.

Do you take requests during the event?

Yes! Greg actually loves it. His setup lets him move through the crowd and take live requests on the spot.

What’s included in your pricing?

Setup, take-down, and most travel. No surprise fees. No consultation fees. No weather fees. No travel fees within 20 miles. The price you agree to is the price you pay.

Do you work with special themes or custom events?

All the time. Disco night, ’80s throwback, country-western, glow party, quinceañera, mitzvah, holiday party… if you can imagine it, Greg can match the music.

Do you bring lights or just sound?

Greg’s standard package is focused on sound, but let him know what you’re planning — he can point you toward great lighting options or customize a setup based on your event space.

How long do you play for?

Most events run between 2–4 hours, but Greg offers extended-hours options if your crowd wants to keep dancing.

What kinds of events do you do?

Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, school dances, corporate parties, block parties… and anything else that needs great music.

How do I check your availability?
